when searching I always get each result listed twice with exactly the same
document, same version, same size, etc.
Most of my documents are indexed through an external converter for OO.
The effect is not limited to those, though.
If the suggestions provided by others have still not lead you to a solution, you might try setting up a separate configuration to index a small number of documents from scratch. If you run in verbose mode (two or three -v's) and manage to replicate the problem, the output might help point in you right direction.
