Thanks for your reply. I usually do not like to install binaries. I like to compile
and know where everything is going but thanks for your offer anyway. When I compiled
htdig 3.2 months ago for Solaris 7, I managed to do the complilation but when I ran
it, the indexing stage ran for over 24 hours and did not finish whereas the indexing
stage for 3.1.6 takes about 9-10 hours so I dropped 3.2. I will try it again and see
what happens.
Thanks again for your answer

I have a build of the 9/29/02 snapshot that's been running on one of our Solaris 9
development boxes with no major problems.

This build expects to live in /opt/sfw/htdig. If you want to put the base files
someplace
else it should work but you'll always need to specify a 'config' directive. You'll
need to
move cgi-bin/htsearch and the htdoc/htdig/ stuff to your web tree. You may want to
symlink
or move (via config) var to someplace with a lot of disk space.

The tarball -- about 30Mb -- is at:

 http://www.acponline.org/public/htdig-3.2.0b4-20020929-solaris-binary.tar.gz

Unfortunately I haven't had time to update this using a more recent snapshot.

I am currently running htdig 3.1.6 on a Sun Solaris machine running Solaris 7. We
have just purchased a new Solaris machine on which I am planning on installing Solaris
9. Ideally I would like to install htdig 3.2. When I tried installing htdig 3.2 a
while ago on the machine running Solaris 7, I did not succeed and so I installed 3.1.6
instead. Has anyone succeeded in installing htdig 3.2 on a Solaris 9 machine?
Alternatively, does anyone have htdig 3.1.6 running on a Solaris 9 machine? Thanks
for any information.
