Hello; We have three internal intranet sites for our divisions. We are in the process of creating an "umbrella" site with a common home page that will link out to the existing sites. Eventually the 3 will be integrated into the umbrella site and become one.
The new umbrella site's home page will immediately replace the current separate home pages for all users. The three existing home pages will no longer be used. The way we currently use HTDig: All the sites are indexed together and the search forms on each use the "config" and "restrict" hidden fields to format and limit results. My question is: Can the existing home pages become blank (with little more than a redirect to the new umbrella home page)? Or, does HTDig begin digging at the index page and won't find any pages if the home page doesn't have links? Basically, if HTDig starts digging at index.htm, we'd have to find an invisible way to keep links in the current home pages. If it simply starts at all root-level pages, that would work fine. Thanks!
