Thanks Jim. I did use a pre-built package originally. I removed that and tried the new 3.2.0b6 release from source.
I no longer get the problem and everything seems to work fine. The problem very well might have been with the pre-built package I used. -----Original Message----- From: Jim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 8:08 PM To: Roman Rochelt Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [htdig] 500 Internal Server Error / Alarm Clock On Wed, 7 Jul 2004, Roman Rochelt wrote: > I set up htdig (version 3.2.0b5) to index one of my internal > websites on a Fedora Core box (running Apache 2.0.49). I am unable to duplicate this behavior with a 3.2.0b5 build installed on a Linux box. Correct search results are returned in a fraction of a second. > I then decided to try out the htsearch CLI function. I am afraid I have no idea what is causing the problem that you seeing. Have you done anything special with your valid_punctuation or extra_word_characters attributes? Have you tried deleting any existing ht://Dig databases and reindexing from scratch? If you are using a package what was built by someone else (e.g. an RPM that came with the system), you might want to consider dumping that and building from source. Perhaps even upgrading to the recent 3.2.0b6 release.
