I have purchased SUSE Linux Professional 9.3. I wish to use it to run an
Apache2 server and use htdig to index my site.

I have installed everything from the SUSE RPM packages and it works
flawlessly except that the stars *AND* htdig graphics are not showing up
in the results pages. Obviously SUSE didn't configure ht//dig to
properly use these graphics “out of the box.”

I have read the docs and tried setting the values of image_url_prefix,
star_image* *and use_star_image but to no avail. Either there is
something more serious going on or, more likely, my understanding of the
ht//dig system is flawed.

I'm hoping that if I give enough information someone will be able to
help me so this post may be a bit on the verbose side. My apologies.

The following directories are used by Suse Linux:

The htdig.conf configuration file is located in: “*/etc/htdig/*.”
The graphics files are located in: “*/srv/www/htdig/images/*.”
The header.html, footer.html, etc files are located in:
“*/srv/www/htdig/common/*.”
The site's content pages are located in: “*/srv/www/htdocs/*.”
The htdig database is stored in: “*/var/lib/htdig/db/*.”
The htsearch binary is located in: “*/srv/www/cgi-bin/*.*/”/*

It seems to me that if I put in my htdig.conf file:

image_url_prefix: /srv/www/htdig/images

or maybe: image_url_prefix: /srv/www/htdig

or image_url_prefix: ../htdig/image (If relative to htdocs / htsearch
binary)

The image files should be found but not even the htdig.gif file is
displayed.
Can someone please help me configure this to work on Suse 9.3?

Thanks.
