I just disocvered the root of all my compilation problems over the last
few days--I had a bad SIMM. After that, I can finally get things to
compile and I committed a quick cleanup of Retriever.
The basic problem was that the old database format allowed us to "mark"
the wordlist for changes. Not so anymore, so I added a new DocState for
obsolete (maybe purgable is a better word) references. I modified htsearch
to not show these documents if they come up and htmerge to get rid of
them.
Along the way, I fixed that silly bug in HTML--it now won'tadd META tags
if doindex is set. It will still get them if they come before a META
robots tag, but there's nothing wecan do about that.
Finally, I'm setting a tentative release date for 3.2.0b: 2 Feb 2000. I
don't think there are many difficult bugs to clean up and I'd like to see
some concrete testing.
