Use something like <A HREF="blah/cgi-bin/htsearch?words=January">January</A>.
For a more complex example:
http://www.scrc.umanitoba.ca/cgi-bin/htsearch?config=scrc&words=intrathecal+baclofen+spasticity+control
Any input variables in the search form can be passed as part of a URL as
above.

By default, there must be at least one letter in a word for it to be
treated as a valid word. Setting allow_numbers to true changes that, but
this test is done by htdig, not htsearch. Did you rebuild your index from
scratch after setting allow_numbers?
