Marcos opens shoe museum
MANILA, Philippines -- Former First Lady Imelda Marcos, the world's most notorious shoe collector, opened a museum in the Philippines last Friday dedicated to footwear and boosting tourism.
The Marikina City Footwear Museum in Manila includes hundreds of pairs of shoes, some collected from the presidential palace after Imelda and her late husband ex-President Ferdinand Marcos fled the country in disgrace in 1986.

Postcard arrives 112 years late
EDINBURGH -- It's not in the record books yet, but Guinness is considering it.
A card dated January 4, 1889 finally arrived in the Scottish city of Aberdeen just a few days ago according to the city postmaster. Its origin was Australia. The delay is a mystery to local postmen.

MOVIE OF THE WEEK: Saint Bernards on skis

ASAHIKAWA, Japan -- Every morning the owners of Saint Bernards Colt and Lucky take their dogs down the ski slope.
Specially made ski booties are strapped on and the dogs are fitted with skis. Then down the slopes they go with owners in tow. The owners use leashes to help the dogs slow down at the bottom.
