Maybe nobody else is having this problem. I've been having it for some
time. It's always the in reddish shadow areas of white walls under
tungsten lighting. It could be a combo of using ProPhotoRGB (ICC
profile) and how Nona handles colour.

PTMender doesn't have the same problem; the exact same images come out
free of banding.

Otherwise Nona works without flaws for me for hundreds of large images
I've done, up to 30,000 pixels. (Profile embedding doesn't work on
Nona OS X, but it was a few-line hack in the source code to get it
working).

I will do more tests when I have time.
