Panini shows some very useful information "About your OpenGL Implementation" in the "about Panini" dialog. Either a tab in the preferences dialog or the "about" dialog would be a great place to list some technical information about the system / hardware. Maybe there is also a way to suggest a max. amount of RAM for enblend or other settings.
