Staitc Objects are anyways necessary for a successful/nice panorama, no
matter how big the Field of View is :)
Depending on the lens you have you need a big amount of pictures to cover a
full spherical view around you (360°x180°), but - as far as I understand -
it should be also possible to make a little planet using a "normal" lens.
The normal lens should be as wide-angled as possible, so you don't have to
shoot a huge amount of pictures.

Depending on the lens you get a (very) small vertical field of view for 360°
horizontal view, as can be seen on my tries with 360°-panoramas [1]

I guess people on the list have more experience with this. I've just gotten
myself a wide-angle (non-fisheye) lens and might give it a try soonish...
