if you want to represent the panorama in 3D space properly, a Photosynth-like
approach is better than the panosphere.
My idea was not related to photosynth in terms of providing a way to
browse through a panorama, but rather present the results of the
optimizer in a more convenient and intuitive way for beginners. Thus,
the final goal with the panosphere would be to visualize and let users
interact with the intermediate step of the panorama, that is the
panosphere. This system would contain both the spherical model without
Tr parameters and the mosaic model with Tr parameters. In the mosaic
model the hypothetical plane would also be rendered. Also some other
features, as I have explained in previous mails, will be included to
increase the user experience.
I'm actually still not sure what is the general opinion about this
feature, since apart from James, no one else has commented on it.
Best,
Darko
