I finally found recent binaries (build 5107), and managed to successfully stitch the two photos with your pto file. One thing that has me wondering though; Is there an easier way to get them aligned properly, other than editing the TrX, TrY and TrZ settings in the images tab?
Yes, aligning a panorama by guessing the numbers will drive you mad. Hugin does all this: you set control points, then tell Hugin which parameters you want to 'optimise' and let the computer solve the problem for you.
