Idea: Let's convert Hugin to a match moving camera tracker.
Perhaps Hugin could be as a base to a free camera tracker. What is a camera tracker you might ask. Well... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Match_moving At the moment there is no free alternatives to a commercial products like Syntheyes and Voocat except Voodoo which is freeware and not permitted to commercial usage. Check Voodoo here: http://www.digilab.uni-hannover.de/docs/manual.html Camera tracking done with Voodoo can then be exported (with Voodoo) to a file that Blender (free and open source 3d modeling and animation program) understands. You can get a good picture what this is all about and test camera tracking by yourself by looking these youtube videos: Part one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPZbtKQ1a4g Part two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dREGzpAGKyA (Of course, Blender skills are highly recommended for testing it.) Surely there are only very few of them who happens to use Hugin, use Blender, know what is a camera tracker, need it and have required programming skills (which I don't have) - and motivation to do it. However, at least one effort has been done althought it is not Hugin based: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/User:Keir/TrackingDiary Probably it was too large effort for a one person voluntary project. Therefore I'm here to ask if Hugin developers are willing to create an open source camera tracker. (Somebody has to create the spark, some one else must do all the hard work.) Any ideas how to continue from this? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "hugin and other free panoramic software" group.
