I am a new user of Linux and have Ubuntu 10.04 installed as dual boot with WinXP
I have not installed a program from a tar.gz file previously and was trying to use the hugin 2010.0.0.tar.gz file on the LFXDVD I have been following the instructions in the installcmake file and have the following message on my terminal: mich...@athlon:~/hugin-2010.0.0/mybuild$ cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/ usr/local ../ -- The C compiler identification is GNU -- The CXX compiler identification is unknown -- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gcc -- Check for working C compiler: /usr/bin/gcc -- works -- Detecting C compiler ABI info -- Detecting C compiler ABI info - done CMake Error: your CXX compiler: "CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER-NOTFOUND" was not found. Please set CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER to a valid compiler path or name. -- Current SVN revision is 5045 -- Looking for log2 -- Looking for log2 - found CMake Error at CMakeModules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:51 (MESSAGE): Could not find REQUIRED package wxWidgets Call Stack (most recent call first): /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindwxWidgets.cmake:807 (FIND_PACKAGE_HANDLE_STANDARD_ARGS) CMakeLists.txt:128 (FIND_PACKAGE) -- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred! mich...@athlon:~/hugin-2010.0.0/mybuild$ How may I find out if I have a CCX Compiler? and if it is in the wrong directory how do I move it to the correct one? I have used Synaptic to look for a CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER but there does not seem to be one available to install. wxWidgets also seems be AWOL. Is this another item that I must find and install? As suggested I have come here for any assistance you may be able to give me.
