sorry to hear that but currently I really don't understand. Also not why the
"slimmed down" bootstap command doesn't work for in combination with the
C/CXX flags.

The only thing that comes to mind w.r.t. the resulting dylib is whether you
did a "make clean" after the bootstrap step and before the make step? If you
don't "make clean" for next builds,  the libpano build process hardly does
anything an just uses the already built libraries.

I will make a note of that in the wiki and I will set the original bootstrap
command back. Better too much than too less.
