Hugin's Assistant tab can lead to fine results. If it doesn't work, just
explore the other tabs, they don't bite.
To be able to effectively help you we need you to give us very detailed
descriptions of the problem as we just don't know your platform (Win?
Which flavour?), the exact version of hugin (from the "About" dialog),
how hugin is configured (there is no global set of defaults that I would
also have on my version for Mac OS X) and the type of panorama you are
working on (one row over 360° or just two rows of 4 images from a view
outside the window...?)
Please read the message in the Assistant tab again: I bet that not "the
photos are disconnected" (as you wrote) but instead several groups of
photos are not connected. That's a completely different situation...
So back to the message in the Assistant tab: the note about not enough
control points should contain something like e.g.
[0,1],[2,3,4,5],[6,7]
The numbers from 0 to 7 are the image numbers hugin uses internally for
your photos (hugin starts counting at 0, not with 1).
Now those image numbers inside one pair of [brackets] are connected with
control points, so hugin regards them as "groups" of overlapping photos,
lets think of it as [Group A], [Group B] and [Group C].
The three groups in my example above might also have overlapping areas
in real life but for some reason hugin wasn't able to detect that.
There are several possible reasons why this didn't work for your set of
photos, e.g.:
- a type of control point detector was used that doesn't work well with
your photos (-> maybe try with a different CP detector, you might need
to install and set it up in hugin's preferences first). Which CP
detectors are installed and are available in your hugin installation?
Which one is used by the Assistant tab? (click on the Images tab and see
what's displayed in the drop down menu)
- the CP detector works, but you somehow didn't provid the necessary
commands (-> this can be set up in the preferences). Which arguments
does hugin use as a default for this CP detector? (Look this up in
'Preferences' -> 'CP detectors' where you can choose the 'default'
setting and click the 'edit' button)
Too complicated? Then your next alternative would be to manually connect
the groups as it is really well described in
<http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Control_Points_tab>.
Inmy example [0,1],[2,3,4,5],[6,7] you need to connect images 1 and 2, 5
and 6, plus (if you did a 360° shot all around) 7 and 0. Three or four
pairs of control point pairs per overlapping image pair will suffice.
When done, click on 'align' again...
Does that work?

BTW the photos are rectilinear and im using 8 of them. And i did not
change the CP settings so they are the same since i instaled the
program. The only thing i tryed in pref was changing the CP detector
program. and at first i didn't have any of this programs so i
downloaded some files from
http://lemur.dreamhosters.com/hugin/
but the only thing that changed was starting the detection, but in the
end saying that the photos are disconnected...
thanks a lot

But it should create them by itself like the easypano program or am i
mistaken? You tell me to ask here in the mailing list and then you say
that you already answered the question...Maybe someone understantds
what im saying here...or theres no point asking for help...
thanks a lot

...you need to learn how to manually set control points, I think this is
basically described in this wiki article:
<http://wiki.panotools.org/Hugin_Control_Points_tab>. Depending on
several factors a control point generator/detector may not be able to
find connections between every pair of overlapping photos. If that's the
case just add a few control points manually and optimizing should work.
BTW you should give some more information about the type of photos
(rectilinear, fisheye?) and the CP detector settings in your
preferences. There is a chance that a different CP detector or different
settings work better with your photos. There is even a chance that you
get better support if you give better (detailed) information about your
project.

Good mornig guys
After importing images i press align and he starts finding control
points (before i couldnt even star the align because it said that i
didnt have autopano so i downloaded it here:
http://lemur.dreamhosters.com/hugin/
and now the dialog pages opens, saying that the control points are
being found but when it finish the analise, it gives me a message
"atention 8 groups of photos are found disconnected. Please create
control points..."
i tryed this with the photos that comes with the program (garden with
the statue and stairs) and i tryed with my own photos with more space
to have control points.
i first download the Hugin version fromhttp://hugin.sourceforge.net/download/
but it seems that the program is not complete. what can i do?????
thanks
