Hi Harry,
first of all thanks for all the builds and other work on the project!
The (double) 6-core Mac Pro models aren't mentioned in the inventory
poll, I think there is no Mac Pro at all (quad-/6-/8-12-core Xeon).
Mactracker http://www.mactracker.ca/ has a good overview
Thanks for the link.
Here is a maybe even better one:
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Macintosh_models_grouped_by_CPU_type>
W.r.t. to the 4/6/8/12 cores. I think I'm one these lowerclass simple
dual core mac users where you are one of those upperclass mac users that
can afford one of those shiny 12 core machines. ;-)
It's more a personal dislike of Apple's screens, so iMacs are not on my
list. I also have some PCI cards (mainly the SCSI-card is still
important for my Tape drives) so even the cute mini doesn't work for me.
Oh, and i still have no Intel Mac (or other iDevices), just oldish PPC
gear: a G5 PowerMac from 2005 and a G4 PowerBook from 2004. Time to move
on... and yes, the 2x 6-core machines look interesting to me. I hope I
don't give the wrong impression to be "upperclass".
Actually, I had simply forgotten the mac pros.
I added the "Xeon Quad Core Single Processor, Xeon Quad Core Dual
Processor, Xeon Six Core Single Processor, Xeon Six Core Dual Processor"
entries (I prefer never to mention a model as such). Lets see how they
measure up in the stats.
That will be interesting indeed. Thanks!
Assistant tab:
- the 'lens type' drop down menu is too narrow, one has to click on
it to identify the current lens type
You are right. It's weird that you grow used to something visually not
correct and so simple to change (I must admit though I hardly ever use
the assistant tab btw).
I immediately corrected the size in both the 2010.2 branch and the
2010.3 development tree.
Thanks.
- The text below the '2. Align' button should indicate something like
"CP generator XY will be used (This can be changed in the
preferences)." (I just added feature request #3071177 about this one
plus a second idea)
I'm not really aware of what to change and update when changing texts,
as one needs to mass update the .POs as well
So you have to wait for that one.
Just a proposal, nothing urgent.
That's why I submitted it as a feature request. The Assistant tab should
not confuse users with a high load of information but some clever hints
can be helpful.
Cheers,
Carl
BTW the preferences show an option to switch between language versions
but that doesn't work. Is that a Mac only problem? I always unclick
every unwanted language in hugin's info in the Finder.
