I'm using this version of Hugin from sourceforge:
HuginSetup_2010.4.0-32bit_Windows.exe

I'm having trouble stitching a pano that has about 150 freehand shot
images (no tripod). First I tried with the built in cpfind. After
20minutes, I get the following error at the end of the log:

--- Write Project output ---
Written output to C:\DOCUME~1\Michael\LOCALS~1\Temp\ap_2EE.tmp

Detection took 1001.17 seconds.

Written output to C:/Documents and Settings/Michael/My Documents/My

Michael/My Documents/My Pictures/2011_01_09/IMG_5290-IMG_5440.pto"

make: *** [all] Error 1

I then tried with autopano-sift-c. After some searching around, I
discovered I needed to set this as the arguments:

--maxmatches %p %o %s

(I'm using the version 2.5.2 of autopano-sift-c from
http://lemur.dreamhosters.com/hugin/)

I can get it to complete the discovery of the control points but it
ends up with 2 sets of images like this:

Oddly, if I try with the same set of images in AutoPanoGiga, It
manages to connect everything in one huge image, it somehow manages to
figure out how it all fits together, although AutoPanoGiga fails
during smoothing I think due to lack of memory. Does anyone know
which control point detector AutoPanoGiga uses? Is the similar
algorithm available in Hugin?

I tried several of the other control point detectors, for example
"autopano" and I get an error:

Pan-o-matic doesn't seem to handle the %s properly and doesn't seem
capable of handling >127 images.

What else can I try to stitch this monster?
