Hello,
actually there are several problems with Khan algorithm. First, it is
slow. Second, it does not work that well as the paper suggests. This
is because of few obvious problems with the algorithm - eg. it does
not apply any exposure correction, which may introduce quite big error
into its probability function. Generally speaking, the outcome depends
a lot on the input images.

I will take a look at the test files you posted. There might be some
unnoticed bug. However, it will take me some time, because I found out
that I'm not very productive while having a fever.
