Why i have to use the autooptimiser at first before i can use the

Because the autooptimizer does the placement of the images. You can see this by creating a copy of output.pto and diffing it to optimised.pto.

Now i will know in which command line i can say "no 360° panorama, but
mosaic" that mean the start and the end of the image should no laying
over...

Hugin (or better, the multitude of tools that hugin is built upon) generally relies on the data it can get from the input files, or the data you supply. If you offer it 20 images having an Field of View of 25 degrees each and nicely spaced at 18 degree intervals, it will calculate a resulting FoV of 360 degrees. Therefore, the last image has to be connected to the first one. And the possible output geometries will be limited to the ones that can handle this FoV. If you want to get a mosaic, you will have to cheat therefore. If you pretend that the FoV of the images supplied is 4 degrees, hugin will calculate a FoV of 80 degrees. This allows you to choose rectilinear as the output geometry and the result will be a "normal" looking image without wrap arounds or "funny looking" distortions.

In any case, I'd recommend you to read up on the projections supported by hugin (http://wiki.panotools.org/Projections) in order to get a grasp at the reasons why you don't get what you expected. And please keep in mind that all hugin tools have been written for creating panoramas, either full 360 degree ones or partials. The possibility to create mosaics is fairly new and does not really fit with most of the tools and the underlying mathematical models and assumptions.

Of course, I never have done any mosaic myself, so I may be out of kilter totally with my remarks.

Stefan Peter

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In
