2012/1/20 Gnome Nomad <[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> cpfind runs quite happily as a 64bit executable on Linux. Can't think of anything in the code that would prevent it from being a 64bit Windows executable. Theoretically you are right off course. However, definitions of "variables, defines, etc" (I'm here on very slippery ice as I'm not a programmer) could cause these kind of things to happen. I've seen and experienced this before when we were working on celeste, some google SOCs ago (and also for avidemux for which I used to be the apple maintainer). The gcc implementations slightly differ per platform which sometimes require different definitions on different platforms. Hence the __Win32__ and __APPLE__ and __GNU__ (and more) if-then-else statements you will find occasionally in the code. I can compile cpfind as a 64bit binary on Mac OS X without problems whatsoever. On use however it crashes with a BUS error.
I'm no programmer either. Guess we'll have to let the programmers handle it. -- Gnome Nomad [email protected] wandering the landscape of god http://www.cafepress.com/otherend/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Hugin and other free panoramic software" group.
