Hi,
the latest hugin 2012.0.0 works great on Intel Macs with 10.6, so just
download the new version if you don't use a PPC Mac.

If you're on a PPC Mac: Hugin 2011.4.0 works on my G5 (PPC)

I think I also saw the phenomenon you described once or twice but don't
remember the solution. It might be related with the format of your image
(JPG? TIF?). Does your project contain a large number of images?
Have you tried resetting your preferences?
Do you have some other programs running at the same time that may
consume larger amounts of your RAM?

Today I started to work on a backlog of summer photography -- lots of
panorama sequences. I ran across one troublesome image and wanted to
tweak the alignment points manually. As I recall, the way to do this was
to bring up the Control Points screen, which displays 2 images at a time
(selected from the menus above each display area). I used to be able to
adjust alignment points quite precisely using this interface.
Today, to my surprise, the images are not displayed below the menus. I
can select the images (and the menu is sensible, i.e. matches the image
names), but no image is displayed: most of the screen remains blank.
Is this because I am using an old version of Hugin? My OSX is a bit out
of date too, so I'm nervous about upgrading blindly to the latest greatest.
