It is possible. There are a few hugin defaults that needs to be adjusted, and some other steps that ensure the final image is correct. An example: http://histoweb.co.za/028/028img003.html 1. Output should be TIFF. You can do jpeg, if you don't plan on doing anything else with the image. I did find that I got best results by keeping it as a TIFF. 2. Under Settings: Assistant: Downscale final pano should be set at 100 percent of max. width. 3. After optimisation, but before viewing and adjusting the final result, I always make sure to click Calculate field of view and Calculate optimal size (on the Stitcher tab). 4. Be very careful with centre, fit and straighten. Straighten is a problem and I never touch it when doing slides, the others two less so. To check, it is a good idea to photograph a photoscale in sections, stitch, and cross compare by superimposition.
