So I ask: Is there a simple way to have Emblend calculate
nearest-image-center hulls and preferentially choose the image nearest a
point to blend?
I don't know how to get Enblend to do what you ask.
Have you tried Multiblend? It is essentially a drop-in replacement, and as
it derives the seams by a different approach it may give results more
suitable to you. Worth a try, but I have no idea if the results will be
any better.
If the blurring at the edges is consistent...ie wholly due to lens, always
the same and not motion blur or somesuch, then there may be a way of
reducing the blur, but it will never be sufficient to allow a deblurred
image to abut a sharp image without the difference being noticeable...and
it would probably be quite an intensive task given the number of images
you mention.
If it is as bad as you describe, it does make me wonder if the lens is out
of kilter.
Cheers,
