OK, I've taken a look at the two "Fails" images, and yes, cpfind fails silently for me too. I tried it with panomatic, and that works. I've stitched an 81 MP panorama from them, which you can find at http://www.lemis.com/grog/tmp/Fails.jpeg So yes, it looks as if this is a bug with cpfind.
