No problems here Harry. I always use 'make -j16'.
Maybe -j16 is taking it a bit far - you have to have a big machine for
that. Some of the sources need a lot of memory to compile, and raising
the number of threads too much may be counterproductive, sending the
system swapping. I use -j6 on my four-core.
But yes, multithreaded compiles are no problem.
