Yes, it does seem like this is a man-made sound that can be turned off
and on. It also can increase in intensity and seems to be non-
directional, I.e. Comes from non-specific direction.
I will read the old "hum busted" posts and get up to speed.
Last summer I had reached a point where it seemed pretty intolerable
and I tried to find source. Called the local police and they took my
complaint seriously, came to my house but since the officer could not
hear it he did not know how to pursue. I also got the electric company
to send out a service truck, no luck with them, they could not detect
it. We went to the nearby utility poles and I could hear the hum from
the transformers but was not it. They concluded it was not from their
equipment. Then I called local FBI office and made a report. They
thought I was a kook at first but after some convincing they listened.
We have a very deep lake here with a naval base and I thought the hum
could be connected to some sonar testing in the lake. So FBI guy said
I should contact the base commander with my complaint. Next step. Also
thought this might be connected to H.A.R.R.P.
