Hi Nohr- Many have been there and many have failed- so don't be deflated will you ;) Though it does sound mechanical in tone and electromagnetic in persistence [transfer] through materials readily many including me think it's more like an earth resonance effect. Some of us, with increasing years and sensitivity, get to pick it up- but even then it can be inconsistent. The best gemeral advice is to stay aware, but not worry too much about it. That definitely makes it worse on occasions. Even this tendency can be worrying in its own right, as it gives a 'lurky' air to hum -being highly likely a by-product of unknown activity but annoyingly intrusive.
