I concur with much of what Lidia says.
The best thing to know is that it's not imagination and there  also MANY 
different possible sources of hums, most of them outside of many peoples' 
awareness.
This is the awkward fact of the case.
They are all irritating and often distressing.
Mine has reduced over the years,I'm glad to say.  
It's never been oppressive, as for some, and your case in point [on the 
music front] is critical for you.
Given the importance of this and the lack of support you may best consider 
relocating or working away - say in a motorhome or similar.
Caravans [older 2nd hand] are cheap and the Caravan Club has thousands of 
sites for a tenner or less a night.
Turn a curse into a blessing and find a new way of life :)
Meanwhile- don't give up !
