* According to Himanshu Kumar --In what can be considered a unique
judgement,Hon.Justice Agnihotri of The Bilaspur High Court in Chhattisgarh
ordered the State of Chhattisgarh to pay compensation to 3 widows and a
survivor Shri Somdu of the Matwada massacre of March 2008. 15 SPOs and
police ASI Patel were accused in the massacre which took place in a Salwa
Judum camp,3 of the SPOs and the police ASI were identified by the widows
and the survivor.In his judgement,Justice Agnihotri said that if he were to
quantify the amount of compensation,the State may find the amount too high
so he has ordered the SDM to decide the amount and pay the same without
further delay.Himanshu's VCA was a co-petitioner in the
case.
