The Union of India will now have to accept what has been
reported by Himanshu Kumar , Arundhati Roy and others
that massacres of tribal people and the peasantry are taking place
, camouflaged as a war against " Maoist ". This is also in
keeping with the reports of a former Couterinsurgency
expert published in Tehelka and what Mr. Bandhopadaya
and Mr. B.D. Sharma and other fact finding committees
are reporting , that the injustice and exploitation of the
Tribal people and Peasantry in the affected region must
end . That they ARE ALSO THE PEOPLE OF INDIA
with a LEGAL RIGHT TO THEIR NATURAL RESOURCES.

According to Himanshu Kumar --In what can be considered a unique
judgement,Hon.Justice Agnihotri of The Bilaspur High Court in Chhattisgarh
ordered the State of Chhattisgarh to pay compensation to 3 widows and a
survivor Shri Somdu of the Matwada massacre of March 2008. 15 SPOs and police
ASI Patel were accused in the massacre which took place in a Salwa Judum camp,3
of the SPOs and the police ASI were identified by the widows and the
survivor.In his judgement,Justice Agnihotri said that if he were to quantify
the amount of compensation,the State may find the amount too high so he has
ordered the SDM to decide the amount and pay the same without further
delay.Himanshu's VCA was a co-petitioner in the case.
Justice at last--in one case!
