in continuation of my email yesterday, a tense situation has developed in the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad. Several hundred students have surrounded the director's office and have been on a continuous dharna for the past several days, including sleeping at the dharna site. The administration has called in the police in large numbers and is trying to intimidate them. The director wants to shut down the institute, so he has an excuse to lock up the hostels, shut down the mess, and throw the students out to end their sit-in! It is to be noted that the academic backbone of IIIT, Allahabad that is being carried on with lots of difficulty by its students and teachers in spite of many corrupted and inhuman obstacles of administration including Director MD Tiwari, Vaish family enterprise and their coterie henchmen. 2) as usual we the students, who toiled so hard so far to make continuous progress in our academic career cannot even imagine to stop any sort of academic activity at our institute IIIT, Allahabad. 3) we are carrying out our completely peaceful protest not against the academic activities or any academic personalities but against the crooked, inhuman, money-mongered Administrative authority. As our sit-on protest was spontaneous and unified, therefore we could not come to class that too only for 3 days. Therefore, we appeal to all the good people to try to understand our good intention and objectives which is nothing but a very legitimate demand "remove dictator and bring real director".
