The film will be inaugurated bynoted film maker ONIR, director of sensitive films such as MY BROTHER NIKHIL and the upcoming globally acclaimed I AM film. About the film The film is an interweaving of the journey of Binayak Sen from the influences that shaped the path he was to take later, whether it was the Christian Medical College where he studied or the trade union workers’ hospital where he worked at Dalli Rajhara or the Rupantar trust that he and his wife set up to help villagers---to the choices that seem almost inevitable. The decision to investigate and speak up against excesses going on in/by the state, knowing the outcome. Accompanied by rare footage of Salwa Judum camps at a time (July 2009) when it was still possible to sneak inside and clandestinely shoot, Binayak traces the genesis of the Salwa Judum ( a vigilante state-sponsored, movement to deal with the Naxalite problem in affected areas of Chhattisgarh) and says that violence is no solution. Dialogue is the only way out. Binayak Sen’s interviews are all exclusive, so is the footage of him re-visiting his past, quite literally, his roots with the doctors and workers of Shahid hospital at Dalli Rajhara in Chhattisgarh, and his interaction with his family.
