Why i am not an atheist
Dear friends
While the illhealth of Sai Baba (however controversial), with huge following
across the world makes headlines, one needs to relook at paths which human
beings, households, community, markets, state and inter-state organisations are
following from an inter-faith spiritual lens.
There is scant respect in paths followed for life forces in nature, and
destruction of nature for capitalist growth and unfettered consumption abounds.
Life forces amongst dalits, religious and ethnic minorities, migrants, working
class, slum dwellers, people living with disability, women/girls/female
foetuses, people of diverse sexual and gender identities etc are not respected
by men as heads of households, women who have internalized patriarchal norms,
traditional village councils, religious institutions (where each one claims
that their religion is superior), corporates, unethical doctors (not all) and
elites, state or world bank, WTO et al.
Perhaps animals are better in terms of spiritual growth. They merely follow
laws of nature, and do not destroy nature. It is time for a spiritual
revolution wherein injustices and inequalities hit our belly, soul, heart and
mind, and we find new pathways to meet our needs, move the world towards
justice and leave behind some thing for the next generation.

errata in my posting itself in public domain : Errata: My post should not be
read as support for US gag rule. Women and
girls should have right to safe contraception, male responsibility
should be promoted, sexuality education for boys and girls is a must,
and abortion on grounds when men and boys exercise power over women and
girls as well as women and girls lives are at risk should be provided.
As adolescent pregnancy is a risk anyway- they should have right to
abortion . But no to abortion as a method of contraception & female
foeticide
