It might be clever to find out what word H. C. Robbins Landon, a
musicologist from Boston and publisher of Haydn's composition for the
Lira Organizzata, uses in his writings (see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._C._Robbins_Landon)
.

Personaly and as a non english-native (and non italian-speaker) I
prefer and use the word Lira Organizzata, as this is what was used by
the composers of the original music for this instrument (please tell
me of any composers who used other words in their original
compositions if you know such).
It seems that using "vielle" for the french types is manageable, so
why "Lira Organizzata" shouldn't?

Maybe we could start an effort to translate the german wikipedia entry
about this instrument into the english wikipedia?:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orgelleier
(I wrote this entry. There is good reason not to include it within the
hurdy gurdy entry, and I am willing to bring forward thouse arguments
here if someone is interested).

By the way for reasons that I do not know of I did not recive any mail
from this list between 24.4. and yesterday. Either there was a big
silence or there was/is some trouble with the listserver.

Simon
