re: humidifiers
I've been using something from this web-site:

for some time now in my lute and hurdy-gurdy cases. I'm referring to the
cello and violin humidifiers from Planet Waves. They come with an
electronic hygrometer/thermometer that also records min/max temp and
humidity. The violin size fits in my lute case; my HG case is rather large
and not "tailored" to the instrument, so I use a cello size in it. I was
able to purchase a water-holder (for lack of a better word) separately from
the hygrometer, so I have only one of the latter to switch between cases.
As for tuning in non-equal temp, korg makes one that will tune in
Young's or Vallotti's meantone, but the ear is a good judge of a really
sweet interval! You can find tables of differences in cents between equal
and various other tunings such as just intonation; using a meter that
registers cents, you can adjust pitches in or out of tune by cents.
