I saw La Vent du Nord ("the north wind") here two weeks ago. A great
pleasure to meet Nicolas Boulerice. He has a very fancy instrument
from Denis Siorat. I am simply chatting to say it, but Nicolas told me
of their meeting, today and tomorrow, in Montreal. His group was just
great. I took pictures. So, to wind up, here is a copied line from
somewhere on the web.

<As you may know, the 3rd annual Chants de Vielles festival of hurdy
gurdies and traditional music will be taking place next weekend (Sept.
9-10) in Calixa-Lavalée, which is just outside of Montreal, Qc
(accessible by public transit). The complete festival line-up can be
found at: www.chantsdevielles.com AND, before the festival there will
be two hurdy gurdy centered jams. Present will be the one-and-only
R.T. Taylor, all the way from California - not to be missed!>
