There was mention of wrapping thread, also of dampening the shaft and
quickly putting it back in. However, I did that and snapped the #(*%%&
tangent off. I live in the US Pacific Northwest, dry is not a problem, so I
didn't pay close attention to the problems of dry climates. Sorry. I did
make one shaft a tiny bit too small and I painted it with clear fingernail
polish, dried it completely and put it in. It worked.
