Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Lesson was great - bit of chore traveling two and half hours across the Netherlands to get to the lesson, but well worth it. I can see the immediate value in having a teacher, rather than just trying books and videos, as he was able to spot bad habits before they become a habit. In my case, flexing my wrist too much when turning the crank.
