The difference in sound is as much to do with what you like and hear yourself.
It has nothing to do with fiddle/violin as they are the same instrument.
Vielle  and tekero are not the same beast. Both are used in classical, rock and
traditional music. Both can equally sound fabulous and appalling, living in
this part of the world both of my vielles can sound good and bad on the same
day in winter. You pays your money and takes your choice. Different people will
tell you this is better or that is, listen to recordings by players, on this
listfor example Melissa the loud or Patrick Bouffard. Its not easy to play to
begin with but once you have cracked how to do it..........................it
becomes very addictive to play.  Good Luck     JON

Subject: [HG-new] Tekerolant vs vielle a roue

Can anyone tell me the difference in sound between the tekero and
vielle? I understand the physical differences. I have also listened to
a ton of samples. And, what it comes down to is that the tekero seems
to have a deeper, muted sound. But other than that, it all seems like
a fiddle/violin distinction where the music played is different rather
than the instrument's sound. Any help would be appreciated. On the
cusp of buying one or the other.
