These updated Red Hat Certification Hardware Test Suite package *are* an official release and can be be used for new Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x and 6.x hardware certification submissions.

Both the new generation (redhat-certification-hardware) and previous generation test suites (hwcert-client) may be used during official Red Hat Enterprise Linux certifications.

Highlights of these updated packages include:
* Introduced support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x to the new generation test suite

* Updated the STORAGE test to allow for testing of NVMe storage devices

* Added support for the ARM architecture (aarch64) for use with preliminary testing of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server for ARM Developer Preview

An updated user guide preview for the new test suite is available at the link below and will be available shortly on the Red Hat Customer Portal. A separate announcement will be sent when it is published on the Portal.

The new redhat-certification-hardware test suite package requires the use of the same “dt”, “lmbench”, and “stress” packages available from the previous hwcert-client channels in RHN. Details about acquiring these packages are available in the hwcert-client How-To guide here:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_Hardware_Certification/1/html/Test_Suite_User_Guide/sect-User_Guide-Preparing_to_Test-Preparing_Test_Environment.html

After following the link, search for this phrase to find the proper download links for the packages built for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7:

We will be adding these three packages to the redhat-certification channel in the future so that all required packages will be in a single location.
