they aren't the greatest in the world but if you spend some
time tweaking it you can get some excellent results..just have
to mix them carefully..

i use the rm1x mostly with a k2000 and some other synths
so i had never even bothered with the internal sounds  until
last week when i had to move and my studio was all taken
apart. a few days of playing with it and i got some great
textures and sounds out of it..even the pads can sound
really hot with slowing the attack down and carefully layering
two of them... 

basically if you're willing to spend time tweaking and editing
you can make it do some amazing stuff. of course that is true
of just about any synth it seems.. :)
