I had a few days holiday, so spent some time with my Rm1x
Here's what I thought (btw I am a total hobbyist so dont
take this as gospel :)

Yes, I spent some time thinking how to hook all my stuff up.
At the moment I ended up doing all my sequencing in the rm1x
and have it also driving my Ex5 synth and Pulsar synths. Now
I also have it feeding into Cakewalk, and the plan is that
once I have everything sequenced to my satisfaction I will
play it all live into Cakewalk to record the midi. Then I
intend to record each seperate midi track as an audio track.
( I am used to doing this anyway because of my Ex5 which has
DSP limitations on certain sounds ). Then I add more inserts
and stuff to make each audio track sound right in the mix.
And also add more Ex5 tracks because of the DSP limits. Well
this is the plan! I also like totally messing with the audio
at that point to create something totally different sounding
again. I have spent the last few days just sequencing, and
doing a lot of learning about all the aspects of my
equipment. I must say the rm1x has been a joy to sequence
with. Really spontanious.

Well like I said above I use it with my EX5 and Pulsar.
However in the last few days I often have my rm1x alone, and
I just enter some ideas into it, just using the internal
sound generator. Then I later sometimes change the sounds to
something more suitable on my other equipment.
However I found that I could get some nice sounds out of the
rm1x if I tweaked them enough. I use different variation
inserts a lot to beef up the sound. I wish there was more
than one variation insert though! Also layering some sounds
gives a nice effect sometimes.

OK that's it. I'll let you know if my plan works. Of course
now I just need to finally finish one of my creations,
something that I always find hard to do as I get bored and
move onto the next thing, or head down the pub :)
