actually, of late i have been doing some trax this way:
1. compose loops and sample them, using rm1x triggering
various gear
2. tweak out the loops in acid. lots of extra
production here - stereo expanding, re-sampling bitrates,
eq and filtering, etc.
3. use acid's "export" to make a huge bunch of wav files,
1 loop for each track
4. load 'em into gigasampler
5. sequennce the new stuff with the rm1x. a lot of whole
notes for the loops but also cool fills and varitations can
be made this way.
6. arrange it "live" using the rmix which is much more natural
for me than planning out the whole thing in advance.

i personally use computer and rm1x sequencing both
in my stuff, really the possibilites are great with both.
i find fine-tuning drumbeats is easier on the computer
but making up cool melodies and basslines is easier
on the rm1x.. if only the rm1x had quantize while record
i would probably use it a bit more since admittedly, my
playing skills aren't perfect and thats the main reason
why editing drums visually is easier for me. but who can
play 16 and 32nd note rolls at 145bpm on a keyboard
anyway? :) hehe
