I've thought about the manual last week and throw an eye at it.. It was easy to figure out some issues with the new manual: 1. It has a new format (plain html instead of docbook). That makes it *very* hard for translators to work on a new translation. They can't reuse the old manual as a foundation for the new. And it is harder to convert to pdf, different html (single page/multiple page).. 2. It is not complete (mute groups , midi actions , soundfile browser etc. are mentioned not enough or were totally left out). But this could be even integrated after the release, maybe we find someone who wants to help us here. There are a lot of weak points, but they are there since the manual exists.. 3. The layout looks strange (colors) My proposal: I would like to merge the changes into the old docbook format and polish some edges ( for example the end of the manual....). Then it could be easily translated. I'm trying to compile a list of translators with email adresses this evening and put it somewhere in the assembla wiki where only the dev's can read it. I hope that the assembla wiki will support this. That would make it easier to stay in contact with them (not all are subscribed here). - Sebastian ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Hydrogen-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hydrogen-devel
