Hi everyone,

the bugfixes of the last days and weeks brought us nearer to a final release of Hydrogen 1.0. I would like to wait for Phil/theGreatWhiteShark to finish his work on the jack transport bugfixing, but apart from that, i think that we are ready for a first release candidate. If someone has a different view on this, please speak up!

After rc1, only important bugfixes should be done until the final release. We could create a branch to continue developing.

What gives me more headaches is the current situation of our documentation/user manual. A lot of the new features are more or less undocumented. It would be great if we could address this problem together!

Apart from the manual, we could make some "feature spotlight" posts on our website which give a small introduction to a single feature. I would start with an introduction to the playback track feature and maybe a post about controlling Hydrogen via OSC from a smartphone/tablet. Since our webpage is now also managed via github, everyone can also participate here. This might be also a possibility to link your feature development with some kind of donation possibility. For example if someone develops a very cool new feature or makes a great drumkit (and accepts donations), he could write a small article for our website about it and give users who are interested in that particular feature the possibility to express their interest via a donation. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but feel free to contact me if you do.

Best regards,
Sebastian
