We could use MIDI note numbers to match kit pieces in different drumkits, but: 1. Outside some most common kit pieces (bass drum/snare/hihat), drum kits may or may not be „compatible”, eg. what happens if we load pattern with cowbell into kit that doesn’t contain cowbell? 2. Many (most?) drum kits in Hydrogen repo do not have MIDI note numbers assigned at all. Bummer!
