I'm 40% through the compilation after some human errors I made when
recompiling thrift and other
tools. As a side note, Boost 1.38 will require an additional change

/usr/local/include/boost/spirit/core.hpp(18): warning #1224: #warning
directive: "This header is deprecated. Please use:
boost/spirit/include/classic_core.hpp"
  # warning "This header is deprecated. Please use:
boost/spirit/include/classic_core.hpp"

I will post the numbers as soon as the compilation finishes.
