There may be an XIM for Vietnamese that works this way, but I'm not aware ofVietnamese speakers pointed out to me that this is unwieldy due to the massive usage of accents in Vietnamese and to the common usage of input methods (for MS Windows) mapping
oo => o with circumflex aa => a with circumflex es => a with acute accent etc...
Do some similar input methods exist for Unix? Is somebody working on this?
one. BTW, for gtk2 applications, you may try 'VIQR' gtk input module.
Hmm.. I've just tried it under gnome-terminal and it appears to use
a different input method than the one you described above.
Another BTW, it should be easy to write a key mapping table for Yudit that implements the scheme above (it's likely that yudit already has it)
